​Michael E. Cassidy, Litigation Coordinator and Managing Attorney.
 Mike received his juris doctor, cum laude, from Vermont Law School in 1991 and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Vermont in 1987. He served as a staff attorney at PLS from 1991-1996 and Managing Attorney for Litigation from 1996-1998.  He engaged in private practice in Burlington, Vermont and Portland, Maine from 1998-2002, before returning to the Plattsburgh Office of PLS as the Managing Attorney.  In October 2017, Mike also became PLS' Litigation Coordinator. He is admitted to the state bars of New York, Vermont and Maine. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Districts of Vermont, Maine, the Northern District of New York and the Western District of New York, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, and D.C. Circuits.

Elias Shebar, ​Staff Attorney. Elias attended law school at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he practiced as a student attorney in the Civil Rights Clinic. He gained additional exposure to prisoners’ rights through his internships, which have included positions at the Sylvia Rivera Law Project and Lambda Legal.  He served as a Notes Editor on the Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender, where his note on the administrative law questions raised by Title IX as an emerging source of protection for trans students, was published.  In his spare time, he seeks out new music and appreciates exploring Vermont and the North Country.   

Chrisiant Bracken, Staff Attorney. Chrisiant is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law where she completed full-time internships working on death penalty appeals in Louisiana, legal services for incarcerated women in Washington, DC, criminal defense in Massachusetts, and civil legal services for state prisoners in Minnesota. She also completed clinical programs in Prisoners’ Rights, and Poverty Law and Practice. Chrisiant joined the Albany Office of PLS as a staff attorney in 2016. ​

Darby Cronin, Legal Secretary
. Darby is a native of  Plattsburgh, NY, graduated from Plattsburgh High School and went on to North Country Community College. She later transferred to Clinton Community College where she earned her degree in Secretarial Science.  Darby began working at Prisoners’ Legal Services May, 1987.Type your paragraph here.
